Our Board of Directors are a group of highly experienced professionals from a wide cross section of business sectors. This is a brief background of our board members.

  • Mr. Mathew Wright is the Principal of IWC Capital Management LLC in New York City and has over 13 years’ experience in corporate finance, credit risk management and real estate management. He is the former Vice President of the Infrastructure Finance Group of Citibank Global Capital Markets in New York, with responsibility for Financial Advisory and Debt Arrangement Services. Mr. Wright has also served as Assistant Vice President for Capital Markets in the Emerging Market and Corporate Bank for Citibank Jamaica.

    Mr. Wright is a former Cambridge Commonwealth Scholar. He holds a Master of Philosophy in Environment and Economic Development from Cambridge University in the United Kingdom, a Master of Arts Degree in International Development Policy from Stanford University, California and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Williams College, Massachusetts.

    He also serves as a Board Member for Victoria Mutual Building Society and Victoria Mutual Wealth Management.

  • Mr. Courtney Campbell  is an accomplished and dynamic banking executive with over two decades of strategic leadership experience and a strong track record in business growth and improving general business performance, Mr. Campbell assumed the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of the Victoria Mutual Building Society (VMBS) on April 18, 2016.

    Over the course of his career, Mr. Campbell has held several senior executive positions with several Jamaican institutions. Mr. Campbell holds a BSc in Management Studies from The University of the West Indies, and an MBA in Finance (Distinction) jointly awarded by the University of Wales & Manchester Business School. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, London.

    Mr. Campbell is the Chairman of the United Church Mission Enterprise. He also serves on the Investment Committee of the Council of World Missions. 

  • Mr. Peter Reid is a career Banker with over 30 years’ experience in the financial services sector with expertise in sales and management, credit, financial analysis, financial advisory and deal structuring.

    Mr. Reid also holds the title of Chief Executive Officer with direct responsibility for the Building Society Operations. 

    Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours in International Studies from York University (Toronto).

  • Mrs. Janice McKenley is the Group Chief Financial Officer with responsibility for the Group shared services inclusive of Finance and Fraud Investigations. Mrs. McKenley has a wealth of experience including Computerised Information System Risk Management (CISRM), which was her specialty during her tenure at McKenley & Associates and Price Waterhouse Coopers.

    Mrs. McKenley, a Chartered Accountant by profession, holds an MBA in Finance and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of the West Indies. She is a Fellow of The Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (UK) and The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica, of which she is a past council member and member of the Accounting Standards Committee.

  • Mr. Leighton Smith  has direct responsibility and oversight for the Victoria Mutual Operations in the United Kingdom, United States and Canada. He has over 20 years of experience in the field of Marketing and Sales, Business Development, Operations Management and Retail Banking.

    He holds a MBA in Business Administration and Management from the University of New Orleans and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Management from the University of Technology, Jamaica.

    Mr. Smith also holds certification in Job Evaluation, Culture Change, Project Management, Stocks & Securities, and Mortgage Advise and Practice (CeMAP) in the United Kingdom.

  • Mr. Noel Hann was appointed to the board in October 2018.  Mr. Hann’s relationship with Victoria Mutual however started in 1976 and he served the organization for over 30 years.

    During his tenure, he had responsibility for Accounting, Finance, Investment, Pension Fund Administration, Foreign Currency Trading and Information Technology. He retired in 2010 as Senior Vice President, Group Risk and Compliance. Mr. Hann also has extensive professional experience in manufacturing, construction and hotel operations.

    Mr. Hann is a fellow of The Association of International Accountants (UK) and a member of the Chartered Management Institute (UK). In July 2007, he completed an Executive Juris Doctor (EJD) Law Degree at Concord Law School, California, specializing in the technical area with options in Cyberlaw, Patent Litigation, Intellectual Property and Patent Claim Drafting. He has completed several management development programmes, including Financial Management at the Graduate School of Savings & Loans, North Western University.

  • Mrs. Delores Cooper is an accomplished diaspora leader in the Jamaican community in the United Kingdom. Over the course of her professional career, Mrs. Cooper has held several senior positions in Education, including Project Manager for the USAID Project – Rural Services for Children with Special Needs in Jamaica.  She served as Executive Director for Private Voluntary Organisations Limited and the Jamaica Special Olympics Committee for a total of five World Games.  Mrs. Cooper also worked at the Jamaica High Commission in the United Kingdom between 1999 through to 2010 where she spearheaded the Commission’s community relations and engagement initiatives.

    In 1994, Mrs. Cooper received the Order of Distinction in the rank of Officer (OD) by the Government of Jamaica for services in the field of Education and Community Services. In 1994 she was recognised by the Best of St.Bess Golden Hands Awards for Outstanding Service in the field of Community Services. She was appointed to the board of VM Finance on June 14, 2011.

  • Mr. Paul Andrews is a natural and experienced leader with a proven track record of managing high performing teams while consistently exceeding objectives. His core strengths include an ability to forge fruitful relationships, strong communication skills, an ability to generate significant volumes of new business opportunities, and customer experience/staff development which he is very passionate about.

    Mr. Andrews is the Managing Director of Stonehill Commercial Ltd, a commercial brokering company. He also provides contractual consultancy work.

    His banking career spans over 24 years, having worked with companies such as Natwest, RBS and Handelsbanken in various posts from Manager to Director of Corporate Banking and Director of Commercial Banking.
